This piece follows the legendary Seiko 62MAS (6217 ref.8001), Seiko’s first professional diver released in 1965, and directly precedes the iconic Seiko 6105 ref.8110/8119, famously known as the “Captain Willard” — worn by Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now.

The 6105 ref.8000 strikes a perfect balance between durability and elegance, featuring a sleek, symmetrical 41mm case, a more refined design compared to its bolder successor. The offset crown at 4 o’clock, though not yet featuring the locking mechanism of the 8110, already hints at the evolving DNA of Seiko dive watches.

This particular example is in its original condition, with no aesthetic restoration. Everything is original and showing signs of use corresponding with its age. Hours and minutes hand only seems to have been relumed in the past.
Mechanically the watch is running smooth, just came from maintenance on the movement only.
